Mrs. Johnson has been teaching music for 15 years.  She believes that music is a universal language and that it has the potential to reach everyone.  Mrs. Johnson grew up in Danville, Virginia and came to Cleveland to attend Lee University in 1994.  While at Lee, Mrs. Johnson was priviledged to be a part of the Ladies of Lee, where she served as President and Student Director.  Shortly after graduating from Lee University, she married Paul Johnson in 2002.  (Paul was born and raised in Palmer, Alaska!) They have 2 handsome children, Matthew (9) and Jonah (2).

Mrs. Johnson and her husband directed and traveled with a Contemporary Christian/Praise Band called Judah from 1999-2002.  The group traveled to Alaska to provide music for youth camp services, church services, and many other locations.  They also performed locally and in surrounding areas.  Mr. and Mrs. Johnson also write songs together and have performed their music at various places.  Mr. and Mrs. Johnson also directed the Youth Choir and Small Ensemble at North Cleveland Church of God from 2003-2005.  They were able to take the groups to the Church of God General Assembly to compete in the National Teen Talent competition.

Mrs. Johnson taught elementary music for 10 years before coming to Lake Forest.  She was the music teacher for Blue Springs Elementary School for 4 years prior to the devastating tornados that forced the school to close in 2011.  Mrs. Johnson was reunited with many of her former students when she came to LFMS.  She is very happy to have a home again at Lake Forest Middle School!
