New Scanner System at Lake Forest

When it comes to protecting innocent children, schools are at the eye of the storm. Parents demand greater scrutiny of those allowed on campus. Students and educators need a safe, secure work environment that fosters student learning and self-confidence. In order to offer continued safety for our students, LAKE FOREST MIDDLE SCHOOL implements a security measure called Hall Pass.

This program requires any visitor coming into the building to scan his or her driver’s license or any other government issued identification card in order to obtain a pass to enter the halls of the school. Once scanned, the Hall Pass program determines if the visitor is listed on the National Sex Offender Registry or the District’s Visitor Restricted List. Visitors not identified on either list will be issued a photo ID badge, good for only that day.

We hope you will find this system an easy way to provide additional safety and security for our schools and the safety for all our students. If you have additional questions about Hall Pass, we invite you to visit their website ( or contact the LAKE FOREST MIDDLE SCHOOL office at (423) 478-8821. We appreciate your cooperation and support.
